Zonerunners issue 47 Hoax Mag by zonefox Zonerunners issue 47 Hoax Mag by zonefox
Another hoax Zonerunners Comic scan from me.

I like 'messing up' my old artwork to make the pieces look like badly scanned magazine covers. Ironic really, as when I do real scans I hate it when they turn out like this :D

Here's a mock-up of issue #47, not in the best condition, and sadly the free gift has been removed and the adhesive has damaged the cover ;) Heh heh.

I also had to make a sly reference to my real 'Flock' story, The Darkness Beneath on the cover. I just couldn't help it. :D

When I intially chanced across this unique and extremely original Deviation whilst idly meandering about your Gallery, Zonefox, I am only capable of declaiming that I was genuinely astounded and enchanted by it - the very thumbnail stridently exhibited itself to me for a more intensive and detailed perusal, and I readily complied.

As iterated in the previous paragraph, Zonefox, this is a highly ingenious and commendably intelligent manner of conveying your artistry to us, illustrating both your evident devotion to the realm being focused upon and your demonstrated technical skill and laboured scrupulousness in ensuring an impeccable and convincingly-portrayed scene.

There are many factors which contribute to erecting such an absolute and impressively consistent atmosphere - the professional nature of the 'original' cover, with its logo a faithful emulation of the original Sonic the Comic icon emblazoned upon its own comics and combined with the diligently-observed inclusion of all of the administrative paraphenalia such as price, issue number and so forth - even the very barcode! - could be misrepresented as a commercial production in other circumstances, if you deigned to be devious!

The 'wear' that you have implanted into the 'dilapidated' cover is also executed with an exceedingly strong sense of calculation and perspective - two features I applaud especially are the upturned crumpled corner in the bottom right, revealing a page below it, and the delicate shadow along the spine to enchance the aura of it being scanned - both thoroughly impressive and conscientious inclusions! The only flaw that I can detect in this elaborate facade is that some of your 'mottling' to indicate wear on the spine has spread into the shadow beside it, but it is only noticeable if you are examining it intently.

To conclude, I enjoy particularly how you have not simply extricated a random and unsuitable image from your Gallery and imposed it on a magazine, but have possessed the forethought to represent one with space which encourages the peruser to believe that it has been specifically designed for a cover. The colouring of the legends also complements the atmopshere of the scene well.

Altogether, an impressive and magnificent creation, Zonefox... I have commenced wishing that it was a real magazine... can you give me a telephone number for subscriptions? :'(

I really like makes me want to read the real thing, which probably means your graphic designing skills are top notch!:D I like the way the free gift has damaged the cover...score an additional point for realism!

i hated the way they'd sellotape cheap and useless free gifts to the old comic. x.x; i'd be faced with attempting to either prise it off gently, or cut the gifts off and stick the sellotape agree the cover. ox;

ah yes, this reminds me of the good old days. ^.^ cleverly done.

Wow, looks so like a real STC. You even got the "new story" bubble and the bit at the top just right. Very nice. :)

Yeah! Thats really neat! Your art kinda reminds me of the way the Worms armageddon and the other worms games film sequences were drawn.
