This has been finished for about three weeks now - it's probably time to upload it, as I have to be finished with last minute adjustments by now.
I think I don't do enough 'pure' fanart. I considered producing more a while back, but the Sonic fandom has lost it's appeal to me for the most part. However, this image provided me with enough interest and led to what you see here. I'm satisfied that not only have I produced a piece of work I am happy with, but i've proven to myself that if approached in the right way, producing art for this fandom can actually still be fun.
A more detailed background (with clouds) was produced with my precious Wacom tablet, after the first attempt was a bit bland and lacked a sense of depth. A little feedback from others can transform work in progress enourmously. Thank you to ~Fruufoo for her constructive criticism and my family offline - they helped me bring a lot more life into this piece.
Anyway - a 'classic' image of Sonic and Tails with the early Tornado, flying high over Mobius as the sun sets. Fan Art, pure and simple, which was challenging and fun to produce. I may do some more like this in the future.
YES I FUCKING LOVE YOU. You have no idea how angry I've been getting with the recent bursts of sonic and other such characters being uploaded, most of them are new and i don't like them. *stuborn* You have just restored my faith in DA, that people DO actaully remember 'back in the day' when there was sonic and tails and knuckles and that was it, and they were fighting a 'dr robotnik' not a 'mr eggman'. Ah those were the days, I loved that Biplane, not like that stupid great spaceship they gave tails now. lol *le rant* This is just a wonderful piece that has lightened my mood ^o^
That is so darned beautiful! The lighting effects are so cool around the characters and the Tornado. Those clouds are very well done as well! And the way you've drawn it all somehow reminds me of Richard Elson's style. This picture is gorgeous. Superb work!

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.
How to make DA work for YOU! Taking an in-depth look at how to make deviantART work for you, and getting the most out of your user experience. How to get comments, watches, your work scene, commented on, critiqued, and what you have to do. These are some of the things which I have learned since joining more than 4 1/2 years ago.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
