I don't consider myself a fan of Harry Potter, though I have read the books and watched the movies and thoroughly enjoyed them. :D I didn't think i'd have ever tried HP fanart, either - it's just not something I could ever see myself doing. But, lo, what is this? Hermione Granger in my gallery? How unexpected!

Hermione has to be my favourite character in the series. She really reminds me of someone I used to be in school with (if a lot more bossy!).

After talking with ~Fruufoo about Harry Potter and seeing ~whisperelmwood's wonderful HP fan-art, I thought i'd have a go at a quick sketch of Hermione to see if I was capable of drawing her and to get a little practice at drawing people again at the same time. I tried colouring it with the computer, then after two attempts and a few hours later, I came up with this. I'm very pleased with the colouring; it was a learning experience for me and now I've tried something other than cel-shading, I think want to use this style more often.

Thank you so much to for all the feedback on this piece every step of the way. Her constructive criticism really helped develop the picture and i'm much, much happier with the finished result compared to the first attempt

No need to thank me. If you get rich and famous you'll be able to buy me lots of gifts. It's in my own interests to get you to improve. ;)

On a serious note, I thnk the clothes turned out better than anything else - they're good because they look how they should do, and don't get in the way. They're done well, because otherwise they'd have stood out and more people would have noticed them. Does that make sense - something that looks good because it's not something you notice? :)
